I Have Arrived at Big East Media Day

I safely made the trip from Indianapolis, IN to Newport, RI for Big East Media Day. Fourteen hours of driving, 945-miles and just 23-gallons of gas later, but I made it.

For those who don’t know the routine at media day here, it is real simple. Tonight is the clambake, which is an informal event with lots of lobster and alcohol.

Tomorrow is when you can get all the good quotes from the coaches and players. Each coach gives an opening statement, then small groups break out where you can ask each coach or player whatever you would like.

I have a few stories that I want to work on and hopefully things will work out where I can get all of my questions in during the allotted time.

Until then, enjoy this photo of the lobster I ate last year.

Regan Smith’s Car Shows Tribute to Aurora Victims

Furniture Row Racing is located just a few miles from where the Aurora, CO theater shooting occurred. Fittingly, the team painted their race car as a mobile tribute to the victims.

Here are some photos:

NASCAR’s Robin Pemberton Blasts Drivers

Here is the breaking audio that I took from the driver’s meeting at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The firm tone stems from the controversial NASCAR decision to black flag Elliott Sadler for a restart violation toward the end of yesterday’s Nationwide race.

Driver’s and crew chiefs await the driver’s meeting at Indy

Let’s just say that the facial expressions of the driver’s told the entire story. They were completely shocked and really didn’t know how to react. Expect this story to dominate the race recap stories.

Of course, if you aren’t interested in the audio, here is a picture of The Band Perry with some Crown Royal reps.
