Uniform Update: Indiana

2011 home uniforms for the Indiana Hoosiers (via IUHoosiers.com)

 Yesterday Indiana University announced that they were rolling back the clock on their 2011 uniforms, going with a more traditional uniform. They only posted the home version of the uniform on their site, but personally I think they look great.

Indiana also “updated” the helmet, by going back to the white facemasks on the same helmet design that they used from 2002 through 2007. In fact, the helmet with the white facemask is exactly the same as what the school used from 2002 to 2004.

Quick Thoughts: I like the direction Indiana is trying to go but the defense is going to be suspect again this year I think.

Logo Time

A couple of new logos came our way today. First, the Big Ten Network announced that they were re-branding to BTN and that they had a new logo to go along with the name change.

Of course, the Big Ten didn’t stop there, they also unveiled team specific primary and secondary logos.

If you want a bigger version of each team logo, it is available on the Big Ten Network Facebook page.

Not to be outdone, the Pac12 unveiled their championship game logo later in the day after holding a fan vote. I would get you a bigger logo, but the “click to enlarge” part of their site isn’t working.

Personally, I liked the logo that finished last, furthering my opinion that I would make the worst artist ever.

The voting at the top was pretty close, with the winning logo getting 33.77% of the votes, followed by 2nd place (31.89%), 3rd place (22.08%) and last (12.26%). I certainly give the Pac 12 credit for realizing the Big Ten’s mistakes and opening up the logo finalists to the public for a final vote.
